When staying within the comforts of the Morlea bed and breakfast, there are a limitless number of attractions on your doorstep. Drumnadrochit itself is home to the world renowned Loch Ness Exhibition Centre, a must for any visitor.
On the banks of Loch Ness, the village pays homage to one of the most famous monsters of all time, where it is also possible to take a guided tour exploring the notorious waters for yourself. Morlea is perfectly placed to indulge and lose oneself in the legend of Nessie. With sightings dating back to the 6th century AD it is no modern myth.

Within close proximity to Morlea is the Great Glen which is part of Scotland's most treasured heritage. Taking in Loch Ness, the Great Glen stretches from Fort William in the west to Inverness in the East.
It is an area offering true Highland hospitality unknown anywhere else in the world. Fort Augustus, named after the fort built by General Wade, in turn named after King George's second son, affords the visitor spectacular views of the Caledonian Canal with its Thomas Telford designed lock system.
Glen Affric is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is also home to a National Nature Reserve. Set amidst the Caledonian Pine Forest are the natural habitats of red squirrels, red deer, golden eagle, otter, badgers and a great deal or rare wildlife.

Urquhart Castle is located 2 miles from Morlea, and as one of Historic Scotland's undisputed treasures, is well worth a visit. With a fascinating, if chequered, history, the castle was destroyed in the late 1600s thus preventing its transition into Jacobite hands.
In 2003 it was handed over to the National Trust for Scotland and its striking ruins on an outcrop over the banks of Loch Ness provide a popular visitors destination.
Whether you are looking for a peaceful break taking in the many sights and attractions surrounding Drumnadrochit, or are after an action adventure holiday making the most of the surrounding Highlands, Morlea provides the perfect base from which to make the most of this breathtaking area.
